The Garage

This is the MK7's whole story — the swap, the setbacks, the strip. Keep scrolling: the garage moves sideways.

Chapter 01

Where it
all begins

A 2015 VW Golf MK7 1.8T and a guy who refused to let a disability decide who gets to turn wrenches. Episode one laid it out: real work, real limits, real workarounds — filmed exactly as it happens, F bombs included.

The IS20
swap

The GTI's IS20 turbo bolted onto the 1.8T — the classic MK7 recipe for real power on a budget. Done at home, on the ground, one step at a time. This is the heart of the build and the proof of the whole idea.

Let it
breathe

Three-inch intake, three-inch downpipe, GTI catback. The MK7 finally inhales and exhales like it means it — and the sound checks the heavy-rock box all by itself.

Prove it at
the strip

Dyno queens are boring. The MK7 went to the quarter mile to put a number on the work — launched, logged and driven home. Every pass is a receipt.

When it
fights back

Boost gone, EPC light on, P334A in the scanner. Instead of guessing, the turbo came off and the real cause got found on camera — because showing the diagnosis honestly is worth more than pretending it never breaks.

What's
next

The build never stops — and the community picks a lot of what happens next. Drop a comment on the channel or send an idea straight to the garage.

The method

Adaptive
wrenching

The point of the channel isn't the car — it's the how. These are the principles behind every job Steven films.

01Work the angles

Every job gets planned around position first — where the body can be stable, supported and safe before a single bolt turns. The setup IS the technique.

02Let the tool do it

Leverage, cheater bars, quality ratchets and the occasional one-tool trick replace brute grip strength. Strength is optional; physics isn't.

03Show the mistakes

Snapped bolts and wrong guesses stay in the cut. Watching the recovery teaches more than watching a perfect run ever could.

04Little by little

Big jobs become small sessions. Energy is a budget — the build moves at the pace the body sets, and it still gets done.
